Homer Simpson - Simpsons Series 1

Why here of course! We’re really starting to put this site together and get some new content on here. We’ve made it through the holiday season and have added a lot of new items to our collection.

Eventually we’ll have to expand outside our personal stash, but right now it’s enough to get a nice curated selection started. Please take a look at our Simpsons Series 1 collection as an example of the type of content that we’ll be adding to over time.

Dunny Series 2009 – Dunny Hunt

Interesting post off the blog of KidRobot founder Paul Budnitz this morning.

From the fastcompany article:

Dubbed the Dunny Hunt, the 5-day promotional scavenger hunt involves downloading a free app–BeeTagg Reader for the iPhone and a QR Code Reader for other phones–to scan and read QR codes, which send you to URLs for Dunny downloads. Collecting the virtual toys ups your chances of winning. Clues from the Kidrobot newsletter, the Kidrobot store, and its Twitter feed will lead you to the QR codes around the city.

I’ve seen the occansional QR code around these days, but they don’t seem widespread enough for this to be of any use to a large audience (in the US anyway) yet. Coupled with my incredibly old phone from the dawm of sliders back in 2008, it’s not really going to be feasible for me. For those of you who haven’t seen a QR code, here’s one from the BBC.

Once upon a time I was into war gaming as a kid (weren’t all the cool kids?) and while I’ve grown out of it, I still can appreciate the detail people are willing to put into the minatures. This site seems to have a lot of painting information that would be really useful to any custom toy builder looking at getting a serious level of detail.
